Motorists in the National Capital Region will have more opportunities to transact with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) as five LTO licensing offices in NCR will now be open every Saturday.
The Saturday operations are part of the agency's continuing efforts to make LTO services more accessible, convenient, and efficient for the public.
The five selected LTO offices will be open every Saturday from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. According to the LTO, the Saturday schedule will remain in effect until further notice.
LTO Saturday Operations Aim to Improve Public Service
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao said the additional Saturday operations are intended to bring government services closer to motorists and other clients who may have difficulty visiting an LTO office during the regular Monday-to-Friday workweek.
Many motorists have work and other obligations during weekdays. By making selected LTO offices available on Saturdays, the agency hopes to give the public another opportunity to complete their transactions without having to take time off during the working week.
“We want to bring our services closer to our fellow citizens.”
Lacanilao said the Saturday operations are also expected to help distribute the number of clients more evenly throughout the week.
Fewer Weekday Crowds Expected
The LTO expects the additional Saturday service to help reduce the volume of clients visiting its offices during weekdays.
By providing another day for transactions, motorists will have more flexibility when planning their visits to an LTO office. The agency also expects this to contribute to faster service delivery.
Lacanilao emphasized the importance of providing motorists with fast, efficient, and reliable LTO services, while continuing to look for ways to improve the overall transaction process.
LTO Warns Public Against Fixers
The LTO Chief also reminded motorists to transact directly with official LTO offices and avoid dealing with fixers.
Motorists should be cautious of individuals offering to process LTO transactions for a fee, particularly those who claim they can provide faster service or bypass normal procedures.
Using official LTO channels and dealing directly with authorized personnel can help protect motorists from unnecessary fees, fraudulent transactions, and other problems associated with fixers.
LTO Offices Open on Saturdays
The five participating LTO licensing offices in the National Capital Region will operate on the following Saturday schedule:
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Schedule: Every Saturday
Duration: Until further notice
The Saturday service is intended to provide motorists with an additional opportunity to access LTO services outside the normal weekday schedule.
Motorists planning to visit an LTO office should still check the latest official LTO announcements before traveling, particularly if they need a specific transaction or service.
More Convenient LTO Services for Motorists
The introduction of Saturday operations is another step by the LTO toward making its services more accessible to the public.
For motorists who cannot conveniently visit an LTO office from Monday to Friday, the additional Saturday schedule could provide a useful alternative.
The agency said it will continue looking for ways to facilitate transactions and improve service delivery for the public.
For now, motorists in NCR can take advantage of the Saturday operations at the designated LTO offices, which will be open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM every Saturday until further notice.
Before visiting, motorists are advised to verify the latest LTO announcements and the services available at their chosen office.
